I have trained in the martial art since 1979 and received the Dan #9 from the International Tang Soo Do Moo Duck Association on January 3, 1985. Currently, I humbly hold the rank of Grandmaster, 8th degree midnight blue belt, in the martial art of Tang Soo Do. I am one of only six students to be promoted to the rank of Master Instructor by late Grandmaster Myung Seok Seo (1943-2020). 

I teach martial art principles needed to survive social and asocial (criminal) violence to adult students 18 years and older.

I assisted Grandmaster Myung Seok Seo in authoring the book “Traditional Tang Soo Do Volume 1.″  This book details some critical Tang Soo Do knowledge Grandmaster Seo acquired during his lifetime of training. "The Lost Forms of Tang Soo Do" by Grandmaster Cheatham

 I assisted Grandmaster Sy Cheatham (the highest ranking student under Grandmaster Seo's system)  in authoring the book "The Lost Forms of Tang Soo Do." This book details the hyungs required for 2nd and 3rd Dan certification under Grandmaster Myung Seo's system. It can be purchased at Outskirts Press.

I received the "Korean Master's Forms Champion of the Year" award while being inducted into the "United States Head of Family Martial Arts Association - Hall of Honor" on November 5, 2005.

I am a member of the “Eastern USA International Martial arts Association – Black Belt Hall of Fame” located in Pittsburgh, PA.

 I am also a member of "The Philadelphia Historic Martial Arts Society Hall of Fame" located in Philadelphia, PA. 

 2017 CCSO Citizen's Police Academy

I am a 2017 graduate of the "Charles County Citizens Police Academy" which provided me an inside view of the Police department and Judicial system. It was a very informative three month program that allowed me to expand my seminar information!    

I offer "Self-Survival for Women" seminars in response to requests from the community after a brutal murder of a young lady on a local bike trail. I had taught self-defense classes in the past but realized that self-defense would NOT have saved that young woman’s life! So, I devoted many hours to assemble the information that would have offered the young lady an opportunity to survive the asocial encounter that took her life. I decided to name it “Self-Survival” and offer it in a program named “Self-Survival for Women Seminar.”

I also offer "Self-Survival for Professionals" seminars in response to requests from various individuals that are in a profession that requires meeting clients in unfamiliar locations. I share various awareness and avoidance protocols, the vital self-survival mindset needed for a life or death encounter, the difference between a weapon and a tool, basic martial art principles needed if you must engage an assailant, and the one thing required to change everything immediately in your favor in an asocial violence encounter!  If you have a conceal carry permit and carry a firearm, this seminar will provide vital information relating to the possibility of deploying that tool in a life or death encounter.

Nothing takes the place of actual training and practice

but knowledge from a seminar is still a great start!
